A complete shutdown is being observed on the second consecutive day in Tral and Aripal areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JEM) militants. All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these areas while public transport was off the roads.

Three militants and five CRPF soldiers were killed in the 36-hour-long gun battle between militants and government forces after the former attacked CRPF training centre in Lethpora area of Awantipora on Monday. An eyewitness said that scores of people from different areas visited the slain militant Fardeen Ahmed Khanday's home at Nazneenpora village of Tral to offer ‘Fateha’ (prayers).
